Project Challenge Underground stations and tunnels are exposed to continuous groundwater and moisture pressure. Water ingress can occur through construction joints, interfaces, cracks and other vulnerable areas. Large and complex underground structures require continuous and properly detailed waterproofing protection. The waterproofing system needed to provide durable protection while accommodating the requirements of existing and newly constructed metro structures. Implemented membrane-based waterproofing systems, including HDPE membrane waterproofing for tunnel sections. Carried out detailed treatment of joints, interfaces and other vulnerable areas to maintain continuity of the waterproofing system. Conducted inspection and finishing works to ensure effective protection against water ingress. Project Results Provided comprehensive waterproofing protection to designated metro stations and tunnel sections. Established continuous barriers against groundwater and moisture ingress. Enhanced the durability and water-tightness of critical underground metro structures.
