The works involved removal and preparation of damaged concrete, treatment of exposed reinforcement, reinstatement using high-strength repair mortar, and application of a polyurethane-based protective Project Challenge Spalling and deterioration of concrete on sea-side structural surfaces. Exposed reinforcement required cleaning and corrosion protection. Damaged concrete required reinstatement to restore the affected sections. The repaired surfaces required additional protection against the demanding marine environment. Client L&amp;T Shipbuilding Category Concrete Repair &amp; Structural Rehabilitation Location Katupalli, Tamil Nadu Our Approach &amp; Solution \/ Project Scope Chipped and cleaned the damaged concrete and prepared the exposed reinforcement for treatment. Applied zinc primer to the exposed reinforcement as part of the repair system. Reinstated the spalled concrete using high-strength, shrinkage-compensated fibre-reinforced patch repair mortar in layers up to the specified thickness. Applied a polyurethane-based protective coating membrane over the repaired areas following surface cleaning and preparation. Project Results Rehabilitated approximately 390 sqm of sea-side spalled concrete surfaces. Restored damaged concrete and treated exposed reinforcement. Improved durability and protection of the repaired structural surfaces.
