Project Overview

TOP A INDIA Contractors undertook comprehensive repair and strengthening works at the ICL Cements facility in Yerraguntla, addressing deteriorated concrete, reinforcement corrosion, structural cracking, and damaged structural sections. The treatment combined concrete rehabilitation, reinforcement protection, structural strengthening, micro-concrete restoration, and crack repair to restore the affected structural elements and improve their long-term performance.

Project Challenge

  • Deteriorated and spalled concrete was identified across railings, deck slabs, precast beams, girders, bottom slabs, and diaphragms.
  • Exposed and corroded reinforcement required treatment to arrest further deterioration.
  • Damaged structural sections required additional reinforcement and strengthening measures.
  • Cracked and honeycombed concrete required specialised repair and reinstatement.

Our Approach & Solution / Project Scope

  • Chipped and removed loose, spalled, and deteriorated concrete to sound parent concrete or reinforcement level, followed by cleaning and preparation of the affected areas.
  • Treated exposed reinforcement against corrosion and installed additional reinforcement and shear anchors where required for structural strengthening.
  • Restored damaged sections using polymer-modified repair mortar and high-strength micro-concrete with appropriate bonding and shuttering arrangements.
  • Repaired structural cracks and honeycombed areas through prepared injection points and pressure-applied low-viscosity epoxy grouting.

Project Results

  • Restored deteriorated and damaged concrete across the identified structural elements.
  • Treated reinforcement corrosion and reinstated protective concrete cover.
  • Improved structural integrity through additional reinforcement, anchoring, and section restoration.
  • Repaired structural cracks, honeycombs, and defective concrete areas to improve long-term serviceability.
