Project Overview

TOP A INDIA undertook specialised rehabilitation works at Bhavanisagar Dam, focusing on the restoration of deteriorated masonry joints, treatment of cavities and control of water pathways within the affected areas. The project incorporated systematic surface preparation, cavity repair, permeability testing, cement grouting and protective surface treatment.

Our Approach & Solution / Project Scope

Removal of deteriorated pointing mortar from existing joints.
Diamond cutting and mechanical preparation of the affected joints.
High-pressure water-jet cleaning of prepared surfaces.
Cavity filling using repair mortar.
Installation of injection points for controlled water-permeability testing.
Staged cement grouting.
Reinstatement of joints using epoxy bonding, followed by water-repellent treatment.

Project Results

Restored deteriorated masonry joints and affected cavity areas.
Treated identified water pathways through controlled testing and grouting.
Reinstated the pointing system across the rehabilitated areas.
Added protective water-repellent treatment to the completed surfaces.
