Project Overview

TOP A INDIA Contractors carried out specialised protective polyurethane coating works for cooling towers at the 2 × 500 MW Thermal Power Plant, Neyveli. The work involved application of a fast-curing, solvent-free, protective polyurethane coating system using plural airless spray equipment, including surface preparation, primer application, and sand broadcasting. The work order was issued by Paharpur Cooling Towers Limited in February 2018.

Project Challenge

Cooling tower surfaces require protection under continuous exposure to moisture and demanding plant conditions.
Large surface areas required a consistent and controlled coating application.
The substrate required proper preparation and priming before application of the protective system.
The coating system needed to provide a durable protective layer over the cooling tower surfaces.

Our Approach & Solution / Project Scope

Prepared the surfaces and carried out the required cleaning and preparation before coating application.
Applied primer and carried out sand broadcasting as part of the specified coating system.
Applied a two-component, solvent-free polyurethane protective coating using plural airless spray equipment.
Achieved the specified 2 mm dry film thickness over approximately 7,800 sqm of cooling tower surface.

Project Results

Provided protective polyurethane coating across approximately 7,800 sqm of cooling tower surface.
Established a continuous protective barrier over the treated surfaces.
Improved protection against moisture and environmental exposure.
Delivered a specialised spray-applied coating system suitable for large-scale cooling tower protection.
